When it comes to being
progressive: it is not in the size of the cap, it’s in the THOUGHTS. It’s not
by the shape of the glasses, it’s in the VISION. And It’s definitely not about “who
the shoe fits”. Being progressive has always and will always be about
self-determined PATH that our people themselves have chosen to travel and our
ability as leaders to harness that. -Jimi
Agbaje (2015)
Something has gone wrong
with our nation or we would not be in our present plight and mood. It is not
like us to be the defensive and to be fearful. This is new in our history… what
we lack is a righteous and dynamic faith. Without it, all else avails us
little. Our lack cannot be compensated for by politicians, however able; or by
diplomats, however astute; or by scientists, however inventive; or by bombs,
however powerful. Our greatest need is to regain confidence in our spiritual
heritage… there is no use having more and louder voice of America broadcasts
unless we have something to say that is more persuasive than anything yet said. -John Foster Dulles, US Secretary of
State, 1951.
What I point out to people
is that it’s silly to be afraid that you are not going to get what you want if
you ask. Because you are already not getting what you want. Without asking, you
already have failed, you already have nothing. What are you afraid of? You’re
afraid of getting what you already have! Who cares if you don’t get it when you
ask for it, because before you ask for it, you don’t have it anyway. So there’s
really nothing to be afraid of. -Marcia
Martin
A young man asked Socrates
how he could get wisdom. “Come with me”, Socrates replied. He took the Lad to a
river and shoved his head under water. He held it there until the boy struggled
for air. Then he let him go. Once the boy regained his composure, Socrates
asked him, “what did you desire most when your head was under water? “I wanted
air”, the boy told him. Socrates nodded slowly. “when you want wisdom as much
as you wanted air when you were immersed in the water”, he said “you will
receive it”. -The Power of your
Sub-Conscious Mind (BOOK)
The winner is always a
part of the answer;
The loser is always a part
of the problem.
The winner always has a
plan;
The loser always has an
excuse.
The winner says “I’ll take
care of it”.
The loser says “that’s not
my job”.
The winner sees an answer
for every problem;
The loser sees a problem
in every answer.
-Andres Lara
Bitter occurrences will
emerge in your life. You have no initial say. You do have the final say.
Because what you add to such bitter events will determine the final taste. -A.W. Tozer.
People are often
Unreasonable, illogical, and self centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people
may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you
will win some false friends and some true enemies; succeed anyway.
What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find severity and
happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best
you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you’ve got
anyway.
You see, in the final
analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway. -Mother Teresa
