Ethnic Clash between Yoruba and Hausa Community in Lagos State

On March 3rd, there was reported ethnic clashes between the communities in Mile 12, Lagos, after aggrieved Hausa/Fulani youths allegedly tried to retaliate attacks on members of their community. This prompted the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, to order the closure of the markets and also restriction of movement on four streets in the area including Oniyanri Street, Maidan Street, Agiliti 1 and Agiliti 2 streets.

Now reports have confirmed that the clashes have spread to other parts of Lagos, especially Orile.
The new clashes started yesterday and had led to the destruction of properties in the area and the death of at least one person.
