As an online marketer, to
get lots of visitors, sales and subscribers, you need to make a decision to use
your website to communicate messages to your audience. To do this, you must use
the following:
·
Enlightening
Images: These are the first things people see when they visit
your site. Images are powerful and can convince visitors. A page full of text
only is not exciting to read. Always try to include one or more image per page
content. The image size should not be too large (150kb or less) so as to
enhance a quick loading of your web page. This you can achieve by resizing,
cropping and compressing before uploading. Image in post look best when aligned
left/right and should not be more than 350 – 400 pixels wide. Don’t forget to
use bright and clear images and to use images that have a person or people in
them. Get free images here
·
Effortless
Navigation: This makes it easy for browsers and
searchers to link to other related pages on your website or link to other
websites related to your content. Example, use commands such as ‘you should
follow me on twitter’, ‘for more information, click here’. Make sure you have
one goal for every page to avoid analysis paralysis, where people overthink a
decision and fail to take any action at all. Others include:
-contact
me for a service
-click
on my affiliate link
-buy
my ebook (or any other product)
-subscribe
to my feed update
-like my facebook page
-like/share the page on facebook (or any
ther social media)
-download my free ebook. Etc.
·
Soothing
Typography: The perfect most readable font for
internet marketing includes: Verdana or Arial with a font of 12 – 15px. Your
content writing should be free of typographical and grammatical errors. This you
can achieve by thoroughly cross checking your write-up and making necessary
corrections. Break up your contents into indented paragraphs of between 4 – 6
lines per paragraph and short headings will be good enough for explaining
different ideas. Don’t forget that users won’t read you text thoroughly word by
word; the first two paragraphs must state the most important information. Start
sub-heads, paragraphs and bullet points with information-carrying words.
·
Give
Evidence of Engagement: that means that you should not show
zero or low comments your write-ups. Create a fan page on your side bar but if
it’s low, don’t display the figures. If you have negative reviews, don’t show
them. Highlight positive engagement evidence- it may sound self -congratulatory
but it’s good.
·
Instant
Access: make sure that you website can easily load. How? This
you can achieve by:
-Eliminating
unnecessary plugins
-Reducing
image sizes by cropping, resizing and reducing the image pixel.
-keep
your code clean.
