
Nigeria’s northern state of Kaduna is about to replace 21,780 teachers for failing competency test made up of questions they set for their six-year-old pupils.
The teachers who make up two-thirds of the entire pupil teacher population in the state scored below 75% in the test.
The State governor Nasir El-Rufai said they will be sacked and 25,000 new teachers will be recruited to do their job.
The mass failure was condemned by Nigerians online who think it is a national problem that needs to be tackled to safeguard the future of the children.
