#MeToo California assemblywoman accused of groping

A California state assemblywoman who rose to national prominence as a campaigner against sexual assault is now herself accused of misconduct.
The state legislature is investigating Democrat Cristina Garcia, who featured in a Time magazine profile of #MeToo victims last year.
Ms Garcia denies groping another lawmaker's male aide and attempting to fondle a lobbyist.

US President Donald Trump has blocked the release of a Democratic rebuttal of a Republican memo alleging the FBI's Russia inquiry is biased against him.
The White House said Mr Trump could not declassify the Democrats' memo because of "sensitive passages" that created "concerns for national security".
A congressional panel had voted unanimously to make it public.

A leader of the notorious Zetas drug cartel has been caught in Mexico City, according to Mexican authorities.
José María Guízar Valencia is wanted in the US, which had offered a $5m (£3.6m) reward for his capture.
Known as Z-43, he is a dual US-Mexican citizen and is thought to have run the Zeta's south-eastern operations.

Thousands of Venezuelans have rushed to border crossings with Colombia after Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos announced a tightening of controls.
Only those who have registered for a special border card or can produce a passport will be able to cross.
They fear it will become more difficult for them to enter Colombia once the measures are fully implemented.

David Sorensen becomes second Trump aide to quit over abuse claims

A speechwriter has become the second White House aide this week to resign amid allegations of domestic abuse.
David Sorensen denies his former wife's allegations he was violent and emotionally abusive.
His departure comes just days after another Trump official, Rob Porter, quit over allegations of abuse from two ex-wives, something he denies.
