Facebook to use surveys to boost ‘trustworthy’ news

Facebook said it will now tell users which news outlets are reliable
Facebook has announced it will prioritise news sources deemed to be more trustworthy on its News Feed.
The firm said the social network community will determine which outlets are reliable via the use of user surveys.
Founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said news content will soon make up around 4% of what appeared in people's News Feeds - down from 5% before.

Eleven people have been killed after a bus taking families on a school holiday skiing trip crashed while travelling on a motorway in north-western Turkey, local officials say.
Some 46 others were injured in the accident, they add.
The bus was travelling overnight from the capital, Ankara, to the Uludag resort near the city of Bursa.

North Korea will send 22 athletes to compete in three sports at the Winter Olympics in South Korea in February.
The two countries agreed a breakthrough deal earlier this month in the first high-level talks in two years.
The International Olympic Committee hosted a meeting in Switzerland on Saturday to discuss North Korea's participation in Pyeongchang.

Top French chef Paul Bocuse dies at 91

The top French chef Paul Bocuse has died, French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb has announced on Twitter.
Bocuse, who had suffered from Parkinson's disease for several years, was 91.
He died in his famous restaurant near Lyon, according to a local chef close to the family, the AFP news agency reports.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says that a ground operation against Kurdish forces in Syria has begun "de-facto" after two days of shelling.
Turkey has threatened a full military operation to oust Kurdish fighters from Afrin region, held by them since 2012.
Syria, meanwhile, has warned against any operation and said it would shoot down Turkish planes.
