Mississippi Burning case: KKK killer Edgar Ray Killen dies

Killen was sent to prison in 2005 for his role in the triple murder
Edgar Ray Killen, the 1960s Ku Klux Klan leader who was convicted over the infamous deaths of three civil rights workers in Mississippi, has died.
The 92-year-old was serving a 60-year sentence, after being jailed in 2005, four decades after the 1964 murders.
The men's disappearance and deaths shocked the country and helped catalyse the passage of the Civil Rights Act.

Iran sanctions: Tehran vows retaliation over Trump move

The US strongly criticised Iran for a crackdown on recent anti-government protests
Iran says the US has "crossed a red line" by imposing sanctions on the head of its judiciary, Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli-Larijani.
The foreign ministry vowed to retaliate, but did not say what form any action might take.
Iran also rejected any changes to its nuclear deal with world powers.

US Vice-President Mike Pence's trip to Israel has been postponed, amid Palestinian protests against the US decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital. But why does the move remain popular with evangelical Christians in the US?
The Reverend Johnnie Moore, a 34-year-old evangelical Christian, is closer than most to President Trump.
During the election campaign, he was co-chair of Mr Trump's evangelical advisory board.

Uganda denies reports of hosting African migrants from Israel


Uganda has denied partnering with Israel to host thousands of African migrants who have been ordered to leave the Middle East country within 90 days.
The denial comes hardly a day after media reports that Israel government has issued a notice for thousands of African migrants to leave the country or face imprisonment.

Mohamed Salah of Egypt crowned 2017 CAF African Player of the Year


Egyptian international Mohamed Salah has been crowned the 2017 African Player of the Year by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) at a ceremony in Accra, Ghana.
The player beat off competition from Liverpool teammate and Senegal international, Sadio Mane and 2015 winner Pierre Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon and German side, Borussia Dortmund.
